This is a very easy review to write, this vacuum has changed my life! Let me give you a little backstory about what our life looks like day-to-day. I have a toddler, two dogs (one is an Australian shepherd that sheds like it’s going out of style), several wool area rugs, and a husband. Our house is about 1,000 square feet so I usually vacuum about once a day. In between eating all our meals at home, toddler snack times, my husband’s work boots, and our fuzzy pups… this house is hard to keep clean.
Now a little about me. I like a clean house, period. I like to be able to walk through my house and not have ANYTHING stick to the bottoms of my feet. I also appreciate it when my floors pass the sock test, no dirt. Vacuuming has always been a tedious thing to me, having to dig it out of the closet, unwind the cord, maneuver the giant thing around all our furniture, then put it away. But not anymore friends, not anymore.
This year I turned 31. But you know what made my birthday awesome (other than my wonderful family)? THIS VACUUM. My Dad made me screech with joy when I opened this package, because I knew it was love at first sight.
This vacuum is so easy to use. It takes up little to no storage space, doesn’t scare my child or dogs like my other vacuum does (not as loud), and does the job well on all the surfaces in our house (wood, tile and carpet).
Our house is 1,000 square feet, and I have never had a problem with this vacuum running out of juice. I can vacuum everything I need to (the floors, dust frames, crown moldings etc.) and it still has plenty of charge.
Let’s talk accessories, with the V8 Animal + you get a few more add ons.
I used these brush tools to dust the entire house, makes my life so simple. And I use the wand attachement to clean up toddler messes or vacuum in small spaces. What’s nice is the storage unit that houses this vacuum (and charges it) also has space to hold two attachments.
There is a newer version that has been released, the V10. From other reviews that I’ve read, it has a slightly stronger suction but that battery doesn’t last near as long as the V8. The canister on the new V10 is also significantly larger, but for my 1,000 square foot house, the canister on the V8 is plenty. For the value and pricing, V8 seems to be the winner on ALL the blogs that I’ve read. My Dad and one of my best friends both own this vacuum, and both LOVE it.
I’ve been using it for a few weeks now, and can’t even remember what my life was like before it. There are a few tweaks that I would put on my wishlist for this vacuum. On my ginormous upright that I haven’t used since I brought this Dyson home, there’s an LED light that illumates your vacuuming path. While this might sound silly, it really helps you see where the dirt and dog hair are (especially on wood floors where it blends). I also wish there was a switch that you could flip to keep the power on so you didn’t have to continually squeeze the power button to keep it going. But eh, you know. Those aren’t deal breakers for me. DYSON – I VOLUNTEER TO BE YOUR VACUUM GUINEA PIG! It will be like my birthday ALL over again.
Do you have one of the Dyson V vacuums? Love it? Eh? Comment below!
