YOUR LOVE HELPS US GROW.
There is no more of a true statement than this, the love of family helps us grow. That expression we toss around a lot, it takes a village, really does hold true to all the mamas, grandmamas, and great grandmamas out there. When Mother’s Day and Father’s Day rolls around, you want to do something special for those who are special to you!
This wasn’t expensive at all. The small pothos that I bought were $2.99 a plant (at Family Tree Nursery if you’re local here to KC). Bought a bag of potting soil, some paint, and an indoor/outdoor poly to keep our beautiful artwork protected from the elements.
This project, with a one year old, was definitely a two person job. Edie wanted nothing to do having paint smeared onto her hands and being smushed up against a flower pot. It’s honestly a miracle that this thing even happened… we had to distract her with The Wiggles and baby talk.
This is a quick and easy project that has a lot of meaning behind it. For me, gifts made with love are more valuable and cherished than anything monetary you can buy. I chose pothos for the gifted plants because they are low light and very low maintenance (perfect to take to work and put on a desk or a nightstand). If you want some recommendations on other suitable low light plants, check out this blog post.
I chose terraccota pots because they inexpensive and fit with most decor. Between the pot, saucer, plant, paint and soil… this project cost about $7 to make. Happy Planting! Oh, and to all mama’s out there, you are amazing and are loved… and your love helps everyone grow.
