Okay you guys! I totally didn’t have a toddler on my way to pick up our pups after getting back in town from the lake, so I stopped at Target to make a return (*cough cough*) and decided to browse around. I mean, who can go into Target and NOT find something they don’t love? If you know someone, let me know. Haven’t met them yet.
I actually went into Target with a purpose, high rise bermuda shorts. You might think you can find those anywhere… but nope. Trust me, I checked Old Navy, Walmart, Gap AND Amazon and couldn’t find ANY. ANY PEOPLE. I am a fan of high rise anything, so naturally when I saw them on Target’s website and saw that they were in stock at my local Target, I knew I’d have to swing on in.
I am also a huge fan of their Knox Rose line. This line is my style. Flowy, chic, and with soft colors and pretty patterns. If you watched my stories (this try on is saved to my stories if you’re reading this a day or two after I post), there was a younger gal in the changing room next to me… pretty sure around my age… but she was complaining how the shorts she was trying on weren’t short enough. Her exact words, “I’m just not ready for the whole ‘mom clothes’ thing”. I was in my fitting room trying on bermuda shorts… because… well, I guess I am a mom and chase a toddler and wanted a little more length. Oh how my life has changed. I put on a sun hat the other day and Justin said I was turning into an old lady. Sun protection is important PEOPLE.
Oh, and don’t mind my awesome Birkenstock tan. That just means we’re having a good summer and have been outdoors A LOT. No complaints here, other than the funky “tan” lines. I say “tan” because I am pale as a ghost and just get a sprinkle of color that brings me to “fair”. Hah. Totally true though. I didn’t grab any shoes for this try on, well, because… I need shoes with a lot of support. That happens to be Birkenstocks in the summer and Target doesn’t sell those. I am not going to share things I wouldn’t buy, and in this case, shoes that I can’t wear.
Speaking of tan, this cute light pink number below was almost the same color as my skin… is that a bad thing? Too much? I need an honest opinion.
The next dress was ALL sorts of nope. Pictured below, this dress accented everything I DID NOT want accented. Loved the pattern and color, but the tight fit was a nope. But this is a great option for someone who doesn’t mind showing a little curve, you go girl.
My husband has a work trip coming up… a paid trip for us without Edie… and to say I’m freaking out about leaving her is an understatement. I’ve never been away from her for more than a few hours… let alone overnight. So the point of that whole schpeel (other than to give you a little glimpse into the blubbering mess I’ll be in a couple weeks) is that I want to find some cute dresses to wear while we’re out of town being adults (and not having to chase a toddler). So watch my stories over @homewithedith to see what I find and what I decide to pack for the weekend. Oh, and if you have any places I should try for cute and affordable dresses that isn’t Target, drop a comment below!
Also, in my stories, I talked about a wireless bra that is at Target that I LOVE. Ever since breastfeeding, I’ve been unable to wear a bra with wire, and these have been amazing. Better yet, they are always in stock at whatever Target I go into. So if you want a comfy for around $20, look no further!
