Oh, hey there. After many requests here is the blog post with all the links to the craziness that has been going on in my brain. My brain gets a little overwhelmed when I start to think about how everything needs to come together and actually look good. I’m a visual person and these design boards have been a lifesaver!
Here’s what I’m thinking for the living room. I’ve already purchased the curtains, blinds, rug and couch. Walls are also already painted Sherwin Williams Alabaster, just need to finish touching up the trim.
Okay, let’s walk down our little hallway into our master bedroom. Our master is really small (our house is only 650 square feet) and we had to downsize to a queen bed. I’ve had to be really mindful of furniture size because I don’t want to overcrowd the small space that we have.
Originally, if you’ve been following along, I thought I wanted a pop of color in our bedroom. I wanted a fun rug to really pop with our white walls, and as I was piecing together my design board, I had forgotten a very important piece of information… our green antique cabinet that was going in our bedroom. Whoops. Here are the original three rugs I was looking at with a pop of color, but that don’t really mesh with our green cabinet.
Note that all three rugs above are all 100% wool, hand tufted rugs. When I asked which rug was everyone’s favorite, #3 or the Blue Persian was a clear winner. I will say it is from the same line of rugs that I ordered for Edie’s room and I’ve been very pleased with the quality. Would 100% recommend Rugs.com!
Okay, so here’s the RE-designed board for our bedroom. This is the green hutch that changed it all. I love this cabinet, and in such a small house, we’re going to need all the storage we can get. It’s really the only place (our bedroom) that we can squeeze this bad boy in.
The rug in this design board is what I’m leaning towards, but there are also a couple other neutral options I’m looking at. It’s interesting, when I asked which one was the crowd pleaser, I didn’t pick the winner. This is just a reminder to follow your heart, and make decisions based off of what brings you the most joy.
I’m leaning most towards rug #3, the Mcclelland. I will say, #2 Ivory Diamond Trellis was the crowd favorite. I still haven’t made my decision and want to see our furniture in our space before I make the purchase.
Okay, let’s move into the next room. Take four small strides and BOOM, you’re in our daughter Edie’s room. I am so relieved to have her so close to us. Our last house was small, and our bedrooms were close together and it brought so much comfort. And, if you’re new here, this last year we have been living with my mother-in-law while rehabbing this house so we’ve been sharing a room with her, and I don’t hate it. I just love having her close.
Hope this brought you a little inspiration, and maybe there is something that you came across that you feel would fit perfectly in your home. Can’t wait to show you all once we finally get in the house and start living!

**UPDATE**
Guess what, I changed my mind on the rug in our master bedroom, shocker. I found a rug (it’s not wool) but it was half the price of all the others I was looking at. So I’m happy. Found it at Walmart for the lowest price!
Here is the final rug I decided to go with for our master bedroom. I will say, I really did like the Loloi Hathaway rug. But it looked really blue in our bedroom, and it just didn’t feel right in the space. I came across this rug at Target, on sale, and it just seemed to complete the space.
